Thankfully my child bladder did not wake me up at 6 like it usually does or I may have been even more annoyed. I do remember Andrew waking me up to tell me I was snoring though. I also remember it sounded like it was raining although I'm not entirely sure if it really was as the shade was closed.
However when I did finally get up my throat tasted like blood and the inside of my nose was also bloody and raw. Not sure if this is due to weather change or what but was not a fan!
Anyhow so today starts the week of the next increment in my steroid weening.
Hello 60mg/15mg we meet again!
Last time I got down this low was in Michigan and started having issues with my knee. Let's hope this time is smooth sailing! I always can feel the difference the first week, especially because I end up sweating like I'm in a boxing match!
The second week is usually much better and then it's time to switch it up. I'm starting to get excited as there isn't too many more drops before we reach 60mg/0 (60/10, 60/5, 60/0) and then hopefully can start weening that large number down too! I'm hoping when that happens my body will start shedding some of prednisone bloat and I will start feeling attractive Again. I just want my normal face back. Even if it's my fat face it's been than moon face!
I prepped a bunch today for lunches.
However Safeway being out of deli turkey kinda put a damper on my lunch menu!
So there will be a few more Turkey bacon wraps in place of deli turkey.
My fave lately is turkey bacon, spicy guacamole and pepperjack! YUM!
I made a rendition of a "chicken salad" recipe my friend showed me that I plan to eat as chicken tacos.
1 can Swanson chicken breast
1 jalapeño chopped
1/2 avocado
Lots of fresh cilantro
trader joes salsa verde.
Hopefully it will taste good cold on a warm tortilla ;)
I'm not sure if I think it will taste good heated.
I also did the dishes and then prepared dinner. Which I might add takes me an incredibly long time in comparison to how long it used to take me, but on the plus side at least I am able to do some stuff for myself.
I made chicken breast marinaded Italian dressing but you couldn't really taste it so I dipped it in Panda Express orange sauce. (Only because we didn't have additional Italian dressing for dipping)
Also made some cheesy potatoes.
3 large potatoes peeled and sliced
1 can Campbell's cheese soup
1/4 red onion chopped
1 can Coconut milk unsweetened (it called for regular milk but we didn't have any so I substituted)
Salt and pepper
Garlic powder
Top with fresh grated Sharp cheddar
Baked at 350 for 1 hour
Now while I did find these tasty I will say I probably should have stuck to the recipe, but it seemed to be lacking in the directions part.
It did say to prepare the soup and then pour it into the baking dish, but I didn't feel like having another pot to clean so I whisked the ingredients in the baking dish.
Also since coconut milk is not nearly as thick as whole milk I probably would only use half as much next time.
Andrew thinks I should leave the milk out all together next time but I'm not sure that would be good either.
Oh well it's all part of the learning experience!
Andrew helped me bring up my grocery bag of goodies to stock my upstairs fridge and then I plugged along back up the stairs. I keep waiting for the day that they will be easier again but I think as long as I am carrying this Buddha belly thanks to prednisone I am guna be sweating like crazy and out of breath.
Have been trying to get all my medical paperwork and such organized around here, so I ordered myself an expandable file folder to hopefully get some of this paper clutter out of the way!
Especially since everything from the state says "retain for your records". So many records! Enough already.
So now that I have my new walker downstairs I am really enjoying the narrowness of it! I actually just ordered a second one for upstairs and my batman walker will now be my "travel" walker. It's all about making my life easier.
So here is my next gem that's on it's way! Sadly I had to order the wheels SO I'm not entirely sure they will match but as long as it's nice and narrow I don't care
The need for multiple walkers is definitely necessary when we have 3 floors, when and if we move then I will have extra but until that time comes at least I will be able to get around this place to the best of my ability.
I also ordered some stuff to finish up some crafts I have been working on! I would totally post pics but they are still top secret at this moment. I need to start working on some other projects I had started awhile back. It's just hard when my hands don't quite work like they used to!
I wonder if there's a place out here like pips painting pub! That was such a fun night
Im guna have to look Into this! And getting some pinwheel sandwiches from Costco because they are amazing!
Also need my moms cheesy potato recipe because now I want those as well lol.
Ok off to watch some television with Andrew #sexsentme to the ER wtf never seen this show but so far this dude broke his wein and then his jaw busted out of his skin when he passed out and his lady's all "does it hurt that bad?!" Man I'm shocked he didn't slap her LOL
Hope you all have a great night! Xo
