I never know how to start these things off because I feel like it should be something interesting enough to get you to want to read the rest. But let's face it this one has already failed at that.
So my parents ran to Costco the other day and my mom dropped off my glasses for new lenses. Turns out I like my old frames better, go figure. My mom also picked up some sweat pants for me. It's getting too cold here to live in my leggings anymore. The sweats are seriously so comfortable just one problem, everytime I stand up to pull them up they fall down! It took about 5 tries last night in the bathroom where I was ready to just say fuck it and walk back to my room without pants! So I'm really hoping once she washes them they will snug up a bit. I never thought I would be living in sweats and tank tops but low and behold that is my current wardrobe! Anyway what I was getting at is that my parents really do rock! Always looking out for me and it doesn't hurt either that they also picked up a pumpkin cheesecake! I really do love this time of year!!!
Caught up on eastbound and down last night before bed. Seems I can't fall asleep these days before 2 and then I wake up at 5 when my parents get up and fall back to sleep at 6 when they leave. Today I was feeling so damn cold though I didn't want to give up on my blanket so I probably stayed in bed longer than I should have.
I've been having a bad leg day today as in my knee decides it wants to give out or basically do whatever the hell it wants to. Same with my rolling ankle still not quite sure why today of all days. Maybe I slept too long I'm not entirely sure.
So Shauna picks me up at 5:30 like we had planned and I feel like the trip to the car is an eternity the whole time I keep telling myself going out is a good thing but my body is like WTF are you doing?! (Yes my body likes to swear at me)
Anyhow so we get to Rams horn and I get out of Shaunas car. I'm doing my little maneuver to get into my wheelchair and I'm like "my leg won't move" in my mind I'm freaking the fuck out because it's never been this bad before and I don't get what's going on. I ask Shauna if I'm stuck on the chair and then I look down and I myself am standing on my foot! How embarrassing I can't even feel the fact that I'm standing on my own damn foot! When I joke with Shauna about it she says "well I thought maybe that was part of your pivet" hah not quite.
Ok seriously tho maybe I do need light up shoes like my dad jokingly suggested the other night. Couldn't hurt right?
So this trip to rams horn was less than satisfactory and the reasons why shall be called out below.
Begin rant:
First off why we waited over 5 minutes for someone to greet us just seems ridiculous. No worries let me get the door I am sure I can guide a wheelchair in and maneuver around the crap in your lobby. I am not asking for you to roll out the red carpet but if you are standing near the door and you see someone pushing someone in with a wheelchair wouldn't it be common courtesy to get the door? Or does that not exist anymore?
Also if I tell you we are waiting for one more person why do you ask me 10 times if I'm ready to order? Doesn't waiting on someone usually mean you will wait?
So then I tell sparkles we were still waiting then this other server comes over and asked if we are ready to order! Now she was our server last time and got everything wrong so I definitely don't want her taking the order so I say for the 11th time "no we are waiting on someone".
Finally we place our order and sparkles leaves a menu on the table since clearly she knows we are waiting for one more then mother hen swoops in and says "oh let me get this menu out of your way" really? Is this lady serious? Ugh
Another new magician today, if you can even call him that. His big trick was having 3 quarters and putting one in his pocket. Trying to get a bunch of small children to do math really doesn't qualify as magic in my book. Not to Mention why does he feel the need to sit down at the table?
All his balloon animals looked almost identical and pretty sure Moe could have done a better job since she was the one fixing them at our table!
Also I kinda think he went to my high school but I'm not sure.
Red Mohawk magic man still the best in my book.
So Shauna's boyfriend picked up the tab and there was an issue running through the card and so they had to do it manually. She was literally at the counter a good half hour and none of us could figure out what the hell was going on.
then the servers were gossiping like we were guna walk out on the tab, because Shauna stepped out to smoke while they were trying to get their shit together. She was already up there 20 minutes surely her stepping out for 5 minutes isn't going to make a difference.
First of all why would she leave a table of 8 people if that was the case and why do you go and give a 5 year old his own check ? Clearly he's not buying his own dinner! I just don't get it at all. So much hassle for $60 in food if that.
Shauna left her a nice tip too and I'm not sure I would have after they were all gossiping like that.
Lastly let's talk for a minute about the handicap bathroom shall we ?
The bathroom at this location is already a nightmare but can you please tell me why there's always a chair in the way of the ladies room? Literally a chair just outside the ladies room door. There's no other place to store this damn chair? And on top of the already challenging obstacles to get I and use this "handicap" restroom (I use the term loosely because I've tried to get in there with my chair and it doesn't really work) there is a table set up with a Christmas tree and 2 giant blow up snowmen. Really? All this needs to go right in front of the doorway to the bathroom? I have to park my wheelchair outside the hall, I tell Leah I'm not sure I can get by the snowmen which she assures me I can. So I may have hit him a few times with my walker on purpose but it was in the way.
So then on the way out I have Leah helping me get back into my chair and I get stuck on their stupid rug with my walker. The waitress is just staring at me. Ok thank you for the stares but you could at least try and help instead?! So do you know what she says? "I really like your crocs" ok I am struggling to get into my wheelchair stuck on your stupid rug and you want to talk about my shoes? FAIL
My conclusion for this evening is my dad is right we do need to expand our horizons and go somewhere else on girl night. Preferably some place with a bathroom that is functional and where we won't be treated so poorly. I mean honestly who dines and dashes with 4 small kids and a girl in a wheelchair. Think clearly judgey mcjudgerson!
End rant

Highlights of my evening:
Shauna ordering the Paul bunyon breakfast and while she still has French toast, hash browns, eggs, and bacon questioning where her toast was and if it came with toast. It was seriously cracking me up because they brought her breakfast out on 3 different plates.
Meanwhile Moe is down the table and orders a bowl of soup.
The kids all had chocolate milk with chocolate chip pancakes and chocolate ice cream! I can just see it now it's a sleepless night in all houses hah
I do love that Cheryl ordered Lauren chocolate ice cream knowing she didn't like it and then the ladies split it haha.
Favorite part of the evening was when Avery walked in on josh in the restroom and he let out this high pitched shriek.
Poor guy his manhood exposed haha I really did feel bad for him but at the same time it was quite hilarious.
Leah and I went to Dairy Queen after for our weekly blizzard even tho it's 10 degrees outside (ok maybe more like 20 but feels like 10) today I tried the new candy cane one. Pretty tasty although I'm not sure it's quite as good as the pumpkin pie one.
Came back to my parents and hung out awhile. Laughed really hard which is always a plus in my book and enjoyed hanging out a bit before she had to leave.
It seriously was such a funny evening!
Which brings us to now, I'm pretty sure Rams horn puts something in their food that dries me out. I seriously feel like I need to drink a gallon of water when I get back from there. Is that what MSG does? Maybe that's the case or maybe it's just the sugar I had in my coffee who knows. I just know I don't want to have to get up a hundred times to pee!
Looking forward to spending tomorrow the biggest bar night of the year in the house with my parents and relaxing if that makes me old then so be it ha. I don't like being places that are packed while in a wheelchair. I feel like I can't get around and I'm trapped so I will enjoy a night in with the folks.
I'm most excited about thanksgiving day!
I can't wait to enjoy some delicious food and hang out with family and play some sequence! Hopefully this time I can get into the house without any issue! I hope you all have a great holiday!
Xo
