Happy Friday all!

Well I can't even believe it, but today is the last day of January. I can't help but wonder where all the time went?!

PT day requires actual shoes to be worn:

Today was my first treadmill PT appointment since my return from Michigan. I was nervous because I hadn't been on the treadmill since October and I remember it being very stressful.
While we arrive to kaiser early there was no where to park. So we drove around for a good 20 minutes before finding a spot. I thought that once I had my handicap placard it would be easier to find parking but it seems all those are always taken.
Anyway so I arrive to my appointment about 5 minutes late. I hate being late but sometimes there is just no avoiding it.

The treadmill is located in the pediatric PT gym. I'm not entirely sure why, but it is. So we walk in and there is about 3 kids participating in their own obstacle course type thing. One asks his PT if I will be watching them. Lol no sir I will be watching my feet.
My least favorite part of all of this is the damn harness. At least this time I only have to take one break while they are strapping me in. Clearly my practice of standing is paying off. Anyhow so I'm in then they tighten all the straps.
Now this is pretty uncomfortable in the groin area as it is super tight in order to insure that they can raise you up.

So strapped in & raised up at this point.
I walk the few steps to the treadmill and step up onto it. Walk to the front and grab the handles of the lift thing.

So I thought this would make more sense if a photo was involved. So here is a photo of basically what the harness thing looks like that goes over the treadmill
Except the one we use is plain ugly gray color lol.

So anyhow I grab the handles and get ready to start my workout.
Round 1 -  2 mins and 30 seconds although I feel like it was at least 10 minutes.
Take a short break just hanging there in the harness.
Round 2 - 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Round 3 - 1 minute and over 30 seconds not exactly sure how long but she said total I did over 6 minutes.
This is followed by a few glasses of water a complete scrub down of walker and wheelchair with antibacterial wipes and then a good hand washing!
The girls laughed because I was wearing a mask, but every time I go to kaiser I seem to pic up a new germ these days.

We then did a walk down the hall. I usually like this part best as it doesn't involve a harness pinching my fat thighs.
They said my endurance is definitely improved from last time. She said things seem to be moving in the right direction as slow as it may be. Sadly it is just going to take awhile until my body makes it's big turn around.
Next appointment Feb 19 for treadmill again. I'm hoping to perhaps do better on my times and maybe even get past 1.0mph.
For now I need to keep practicing my walking and forcing my right leg first. They also said to try and straighten that leg out a bit more. It's hard because subconsciously I always switch back to the left leg.
Overall I think the appointment went well, they said to keep doing what I'm doing because it's working. They also called me a rockstar! In my mind I'm wearing an imaginary gold star on my shirt.

After I went to have my blood drawn for another liver enzyme test. I'm hoping that the number is lower again and we are going to be moving in the right direction.
However I totally caved last night at 11 and took an Aleve. I couldn't stand it anymore my head was throbbing so bad. I asked Andrew to please drill a hole in the back of my head to release the pressure but he declined.

Anyhow the guy who drew my blood managed to find the vein on his first poke. He was all "what a beautiful tattoo I don't want to ruin it with this poke" I was like "as long as you find the vein I don't care". Thankfully he did find it and we were on our way In no time.

Andrew picked me up curbside and we were on our way.

We went to BJ brew house for lunch and I finally got my avocado egg rolls!
They were tasty and I have to say mine were pretty close when I made them I really think if I add the cream cheese they will be a home run! Well for me at least. Andrew didn't really like the texture.
Oh well more for me!
I also had the shrimp tacos. I have to aha I wasn't really a fan of the cabbage slaw mix stuff they put on them. I feel like they could have been so much better than they were but they were still good.
It was kinda weird being there and not drinking a beer though. I know my liver is probably happy about that but the last dozen times I went there was definitely beer involved.

I had secretly hoped that giving up drinking woud help these pounds come off!
It's been 31 days though and steroid bloat staying strong! The scale keeps going up and down the same 2 pounds.
I'm not sure if it's because I suck at weighing myself or that I have to wear shoes but the scale never gives me a number I want to see these days.

Although I have to admit this week has been kinda filled with a few questionable food choices. But there's always next week. As long as I keep logging everything I should be ok.

However Angelle and Flora are taking me to brunch tomorrow at bills cafe. I have never been but the menu looks good! I think I may finally indulge in the pancakes I have been craving! I mean they even have an "almond joy" pancake, how can I pass that up? (Probably should since well chocolate is sugar and all)
But they do have a whole grain one that sounds just as tasty! We shall see, I do also love a good biscuit with gravy!

After we are going to get pedicures. I am so up in the air about how I feel about this. For one I haven't worn a flip flip since before any of this happened so I'm not sure how I am going to be able to get back into the car while my toes are drying!
Two I don't know how I feel about someone touching my feet while they are in such a numb state. Everyone keeps just telling me to go and relax but the whole idea kinda stresses me out.
I know that is just me being paranoid and ridiculous but that's just who I am.

Speaking of stress I am not so patiently awaking a tax form to finish my taxes. I just want to know if I owe money or not. This is the first year I've only worked half a year and received government funds the other half of the year. When I did a google search it said I should receive a 1099G form in the mail. I just want to know what the damage is so I can assess the situation.

I received a really nice note in the mail yesterday from my friend Karyn. It's so nice just to know that people are thinking about you and hope you get well. It really is the little things in life that can brighten your day!

Anyhow I have been home now for a big relaxing downstairs. Seems my headache may be making a return as I can feel pulsating behind my eye.
My feet are ready to be removed from these shoes as they pretty much hate all shoes and socks besides my crocs lately.

Hope you all have a great weekend! and for those of you who have to work please don't work too hard :)

Xo
